I’m Jess Hooper, a Therapeutic Yoga Practitioner, Mindfulness Facilitator, and the founder of Creative Current.
Bio
I am a deeply empathetic person who has learned to embrace life’s complexities through creativity, mindfulness, and connection. Deeply committed to living authentically and supporting others in their own journey toward peace and self-discovery.
What does that mean?
It means I’m a mother of two, a mentor, and someone who’s experienced the complexities of anxiety, grief, and motherhood. Through my own personal struggles, I’ve found tools—like yoga, mindfulness, and creativity—that help me navigate life with more presence, balance, and ease in the most trying of times. It’s these tools I now share with others to help them find their own flow.
I believe that mindfulness and creativity can guide us back to our center, offering a path to greater emotional balance and self-expression. My work is not about perfection; it’s about embracing who we are in every moment and creating space to reconnect with ourselves.

More About Jess
I've always been drawn to creativity—art, music, and self-expression have been my joy since I was young. But like many, life hasn’t always been simple. I’ve struggled with anxiety, trying to push it away and hide it from those closest to me. Motherhood brought its own overwhelming challenges, particularly during postpartum anxiety.
During a period of anticipatory grief, I lost myself as I watched my mother battle cancer and eventually pass away. Newly relocated to a state far from my family, I was left to care for my young daughters—one just eight weeks old, the other four—while unraveling inside.
That unraveling wasn’t just emotional; it showed up physically, in panic attacks that stole my breath and uncontrollable tears. I kept them from my loved ones, pretending everything was fine. I became a highly reactive parent, consumed by guilt for not being present for my children or my mother. Every day felt like a battle between what I wanted to be and the grief and anxiety holding me back.
Amidst this, I found that creative expression, yoga, and mindfulness became my anchors. I turned to meditative painting, using short five-minute exercises to release emotions that words couldn’t express. The act of painting without expectation brought calm and allowed me to stay in the present moment.
Breathing exercises also became vital, helping me regain control when panic set in. Just a few moments of focused breath brought me clarity, helping to calm my nervous system and allowing me to be present with my children.
These practices transformed my life, showing me that peace is not perfection but acceptance of myself, as I am, in every moment. This is the heart of my work—offering tools that bring mindfulness and creativity into daily life, in ways that are accessible and empowering. Through mindful art, gentle yoga, meditation, and community connection, I help others tap into their flow and creativity, simply by being themselves.
